Do you know the levels of indexation?
Crawlers crawl the web and choose the pages to index based on a distinct metrics. Here are the different levels of indexation. viz:
–> Stored permanently in the main index
–> Stored temporarily in the main index
–> Stored in secondary index
–> Stored in a specialized index
–> Crawled but not indexed
–> Seen by the bots, but never crawled
–> Never seen by bots
In the above cases first two cases are fine. Third and fourth are considered. But fifth to seventh cases has issues.
First two cases your website surely gets traffic, but the other cases may not get traffic, even though they are presented in sitemap.
If you want to determine if a page are actually included in the index or not, there’s only two ways to know:
i) Perform queries that show the page appearing in the results (without having to use the &filter=0 in the URL string)
ii) Check your traffic logs to see if queries are actively sending the page traffic
